Nick at Nick's Musings and myself had a dialogue around a year ago that started when he listed some preaching tips. I believe there were a total of 10 comments between the two of us that were rather lengthy. Nick has gone back and made this conversation two posts. Feel free to visit his blog, take a look and join in the conversation.
Here is the original conversation.
Here are the two parts to the conversation revisited (Nick's words are in blue and mine are in red): Part 1 Part2
Some questions:
-How should disagreements be handled?
-Do you think that this dialogue was handled well?
-Should things such as this even be discussed? Is unity more important?
-What are your thoughts?

I think you are right on track with the way you handled the conversation. It is important to speak in brotherly love but at the same time to stand firm. We are to be ready to give an answer for our faith and I think you did a great job there. Will he truly open up and see the problems with the teachings in his church? not sure. But I do know you gave him plenty of things to think about. I liken it to when we hand out tracts or witness to people. We don't always see the results right then and there. We just go out faithfully preaching His Word and we let God take care of the rest! I have seen many people who are so crass (I think that is a word), and they really come across as prideful, arrogant and mean-spirited. keep up the good work and remain faithful in all you do for Him!
