Convert An Atheist Game Show

What happens when you put a Muslim imam, a Christian priest, a rabbi and a Buddhist monk in a room with 10 atheists?

Turkish television station Kanal T hopes the answer is a ratings success as it prepares to launch a gameshow where spiritual guides from the four faiths will seek to convert a group of non-believers.

The prize for converts will be a pilgrimage to a holy site of their chosen religion -- Mecca for Muslims, the Vatican for Christians, Jerusalem for Jews and Tibet for Buddhists.

You can read the rest here.

Some questions:
-Do you think that this sort of contest will ever produce a respectable result?
-Would you watch it?
-Would you participate?
-Do you think the network is more concerned with ratings than conversions?
-Do you see this as an effective means to convert atheists to a religion?
-If you are atheist, what are your thoughts about this? Is it laughable to you?

Denny Burk: Thoughts On The Saddleback Presidential Debate

Denny Burk has chosen to blog live on the Saddleback Forum hosted by pastor of Saddleback: Rick Warren, author of all things purpose driven. I would encourage you to take a look at what he has written and watch the debate/forum between Obama and McCain yourself. As Christians we have a responsibility to make informed choices in every area of our lives as we are stewards over them; entrusted by God. The same holds true in elections.

Below you will find the links to the discussion.

Live Blogging Part 1 Here.

Live Blogging Part 2 Here.

Commenting On Rick Warren Here.

Overall Rating Here.

Some questions:
-What did you think of the forum?
-Does this put Rick Warren in a different light for you?
-Who do you think came out with more compelling, true arguments?
-Does this affect who you will vote for?
-Did you find this beneficial? What about the candidates being asked the same question?
-Why do some Christians not think it important to think through issues considered "secular"?

Is Our Worth In What We Do?

I watched the video above and that is the question that came to mind. If this guy's career is over- what he trained and prepared his whole life for, what else does he have? Does he pity himself? Does he pick himself up by the bootstraps and embark on a new life; a new career?

I can't help but think that we place too much emphasis on what we do (and allow ourselves to think that is what defines us) instead of who we are (and who's we are).

Aquafresh Extreme Clean Commercial

Aquafresh Drip

Here is the link to the second commercial for this contest. Please watch!

I have made a commercial with my brother on a whim for Aquafresh Toothpaste. It took over 2 hours to film and could only be 30 seconds (so I made two short, complete in themselves, commercials because my idea was longer than 30 seconds) so I submitted them to Aquafresh. I was notified this morning that one has been posted.

The rules state that you win by having a higher number of watches to the number of minutes it has been available ratio plus a couple other variables, so if you want to watch a 30 second spot, feel free to click on mine (but not my competitions as that decreases my chances of winning).

I will add the second one once it has finished going through the review process.

200+ Hits for Big Brother Rape YouTube

I am sort of suprised by how many hits I have received (over 200 in less than 30 minutes) on the Big Brother Rape post I blogged on yesterday. The suprising part is not that I have received a lot of hits but what people are searching for. A vast majority of people from all around the world are searching for these terms: "Big Brother Rape YouTube".

Some questions:
-What does this say about our nature?
-Does being "anonymous" on the web make way for being entertained by things that we would normally speak against in real life?
-What is the draw of televised "rape"?

County Commmission Vs NewsTalk In Dodgeball

I have the event online for viewing now. The Madison County Commission took a bit of a beating but George B from WNWS 101.5 fm took 90 seconds of unhampered pounding. Gary Deaton of Deaton's Carpet One took a pie to the face and all this in the name of charity.

If you haven't come out to any of the games and you live in the Jackson area, you need to come out to at least one of the games. The gate is $5 per person and children are free. The $5 entry fee goes to the challenger's charity of choice. The tourament comes to a head on the 28th of August where a double-elimination bracket will be played out in one evening. All games are at Tigrett Middle School and the schedule can be found here.

Download DivX and watch the game in high quality, full screen.

A question:
-Do you consider Dodgeball a sport?
