When I was a kid I used to get frustrated with my cousin when, during the middle of a game of tag, he would call "time out" right before I was about to tag him.
It appears that one never grows out of these tactics. A thief was being chased by police and after a 500 meter dash to escape arrest, he made the infamous hand signal for "time out" to the police in an effort he hoped would allow him to regain his composure and catch his breath. Nice try but it did not work.
