Some questions: -What are your thoughts on the message of the video? -Do you agree with the speaker? -Why are we so quick to accept something without checking it against the scriptures we say we believe?

While I am not a fan of the "prosperity gospel," I don't like this video either. I pray that we don't have to go through the example of your child dying, in order to find out what God is all about! God is love, not money, but neither is he pain and suffering. He will comfort us through these times, but I pray that God can show himself to us without this kind of loss.
As for the second part of your question, I think we believe what our experiences set us up to believe.
I'm no big fan of the prosperity gospel either. I think of it more as taken the Lord's name in vain than idolatry, though that could be in there, too.
I think the video's a bit too dramatic for me. I would have liked to have seen Piper's whole sermon on it as opposed to just this snippet with graphics and dramatic text.
